Everyday I get calls from parents asking about where to find the best party supplies. At my shows, a lot of kids come up to me asking about how to get started in magic.

So I thought it would be helpful to put together a list of resources for parents and aspiring magicians. I’ll update it whenever I use something that is or has been helpful to me.

I recommend bookmarking this page for your reference and convenience.

Party Supplies

Pin The Tail on the Donkey Game Party Supplies was one of my favorite party games growing up, and is still a favorite among kids and parents today.

Party Balloons – Decorator Quality – Qualatex Balloons
I only use Qualatex Balloons in my shows. Other brands pop easily, but Qualatex is the brand that both families and family-entertainers trust for high quality inflatable balloons.

Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic is one of my all time favorite magic books. If there is a book for an aspiring magician to start reading right now, then this is it. The clear pictures and detailed step-by-step instructions make learning magic (and reading!) so much fun. Learn how to perform magic with cards, coins, rope…. there’s even a section on how to build your own illusions. Highly recommended.

I purchased Magic: The Complete Course (Book & DVD)
because I needed new magic tricks that would be easy and exciting for my students to learn.  (I teach magic in NYC Public Schools as a way to generate enthusiasm about and increase participation in reading programs) Featuring over 500 full-color how-to photographs, easy-to-follow directions and over 100 amazing effects (not to mention a DVD), this book was a joy for me to read. I even brought it into class one day… and the students kept asking me if they could take it home.
